Type of Mark
A standard character mark or word mark is just the words of mark (such as Google, iPhone, or Nike) and does not contain any design elements, color or unique fonts. A design mark can be a logo or stylized word mark. A standard character word mark provides broader protection than a stylized word mark. Logos are always design marks. If you are registering a logo/design mark, send a jpeg or pdf version (not exceeding 5 MB) of your high res logo to firstname.lastname@example.org. Put your business name and "design mark" in the subject line. Make sure to include your name and business name and preferred method of contact in the email.
